Rotating Swivel Seat

About this device
If you’re finding it difficult to transfer into your vehicle then a swivel seat can help.
The operation is simple, the seat is rotated through the door opening and over the sill making it easy to lower onto the seat before rotating back into the vehicle.
They are available in both manual and electric versions. The manual version is operated by pushing a lever which allows the seat to freely rotate in and out of the vehicle. The electric version is rotated in and out at the push of a button on a remote control making it especially easy if you have restricted movement or strength. The latest generation of electric swivel seats are available with a fully programmable movement allowing us to fully utilise the space available within the vehicles door opening to optimise leg room as much as possible.
The seats come with the basic adjustability of any vehicle seat such as backrest rake and back and forth position, optional supports can also be added. Armrests can be added which prove very useful for extra support both whilst transferring and travelling, these can also be lifted out of the way when not in use.
The success of a swivel seat depends greatly on the door opening size, we would always recommend a 3 door vehicle where possible to give greater leg room when transferring in and out of the vehicle. They can be fitted to both passenger and driver sides of most vehicles although the rotation on the driver side is sometimes reduced. The swivel seat uses the vehicles original mounting points with no modification so it can be removed and the original seat refitted with no damage to the vehicle.
A swivel seat can be combined with a wheelchair transfer system to eliminate the need to transfer from wheelchair to vehicle seat.
Lowering Swivel Seat

About this device
If you’re finding it difficult to transfer into a high MPV or 4×4 type vehicle then a Turny or Discovery swivel seat can help.
The operation is simple, the seat is rotated through the door opening out over the sill and down to a level allowing an easy transfer before taking you back into the vehicle.
They are available in both semi electric and fully electric versions. The semi electric version is operated by pushing a lever which allows the seat to freely rotate in and out of the vehicle, the lowering and raising is done at the push of a button on a remote control. The fully electric version takes care of the whole process at the push of a button on a remote control making it especially easy if you have restricted movement or strength. The latest generation of electric lowering swivel seats are available with a fully programmable movement allowing us to fully utilise the space available within the vehicles door opening to optimise leg room as much as possible.
The seats come with adjustable backrest rake, optional supports can also be added. Armrests can be added which prove very useful for extra support both whilst transferring and travelling, these can also be lifted out of the way when not in use.
The success of a swivel seat depends greatly on the door opening size, a vehicle with a wide and high door opening is recommended to give greater leg and head room when transferring in and out of the vehicle. They can be fitted to the front passenger sides of most large MPV type vehicles and in some cases on the driver side. They can also be fitted into mid row positions of some of the larger MPVs. The swivel seat uses the vehicles original mounting points with no modification so it can be removed and the original seat refitted with no damage to the vehicle.
A swivel seat can be combined with a wheelchair transfer system to eliminate the need to transfer from wheelchair to vehicle seat.

Person Lift

About this device
If you are unable to transfer from your wheelchair into your vehicle then a person lift will hoist you into the vehicle onto the original seat with little effort.
A solid post is fitted just inside the door shut onto which the hoist unit is located ready for transfer. Once the sling is hooked up, pressing the up button on the hoist will lift you out of your wheelchair, the horizontal movement into the car is then done manually with ease either by yourself or carer and then pressing the down button lowers you onto the vehicles seat. The hoist and attachments are removed and stowed away in the bag provided ready for your journey.
The person lift fits into the front passenger side of most vehicles and in many cases also into driver and mid row positions.
The person lift is a versatile product which has been proven to have many other uses such as around the home with either a wall mounted post or a mobile base.

If you are struggling to bridge the gap to your vehicles seat when transferring then a a transfer or ‘tip-up’ plate will help .
A mounting point is fitted next to the relevant seat. From this a plate is attached which folds down to bridge the gap between your wheelchair and vehicle seat. Depending on the vehicle this plate is then folded up or backwards or fully removed once you’re seated in the vehicle.
These are available as either a manual fixed height version or an electric version which raises and lowers to the correct height to transfer at the touch of a button, this is especially useful to help transfer into higher vehicles.
Transfer plates can be fitted to most vehicles.
